About the track
Can You Hear My Voice from Heaven? is a very personal piece. It evokes those moments when we pray in silence, with a mix of hope and doubt: “If God exists, listen to me.” We hope with all our heart to be heard and to see our prayers answered. It is a question I often ask myself, especially since several of the people I love have passed away.
It is one of the pieces born from my musical rebirth. To record it, I reunited with my longtime bandmates, Jean Bolduc on bass and Maxime Veilleux on drums, with whom I recorded Maître de ton destin in 1997. My cousin Éric Bernard, of Productions Guitare Verte, handled the mixing.
Released in August 2023, the piece comes in two versions: the full band version and a version focused on lead guitar. It also marks the beginning of my new instrumental album project.
The feeling. The technique.
The energy.
